Special Text Symbols – Alt Codes for YouTube

Written by Chris' Tutorials

If you’ve seen other people’s content on sites like YouTube, then you may have run across special text symbols that people like to use in their titles and descriptions. These symbols are typically part of what’s called alt codes, and I’ll be showing you XXX different symbols you can copy or input from your keyboard. You can use these in your YouTube videos, blog posts, chat rooms, or just about anywhere that you can write text. I’m only including the ones that I find are particularly interesting for such purposes but if you want to see a full list then you can check it out here.

In order to enter an Alt Code

  1. Press and Hold the Alt Key Down
  2. Enter the number sequence on your NumPad
  3. Release Alt Key

You can also copy and paste any of the symbols listed here to wherever you need them.

If you’re looking for more special text symbols, then the next place you might want to look are Unicode symbols. Unicode symbols have many thousands of characters including most of the common global languages as well as some other fancy symbols. In order to enter a Unicode symbol, you must press and hold Alt, then press + followed by the key input on the NumPad.

  • Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

  • Hi, I do believe this is a great blog. I stumbledupon it 😉 I am going to revisit yet again since I book-marked it.
